EARTH DAY ARTIST COLLAB

Montana Candles for a Cause

In support of Gallatin Valley Land Trust

Celebrating Earth Day with Candles Inspired by Montana's Natural Wonders

Earth Day 2024 is Monday, April 22nd. This global effort is led by more than one billion people and demonstrates the vital support required for environmental protections, through education and activation. The open lands, big skies, and accessibility of our valley allow our community to immerse in the outdoors every day and every season. For many of us, having the outdoors right outside our front door is what drew us to call Montana home.

In collaboration with local artists, Uncommon Scents and Holly H. Janssen Art, we’re excited to announce The Montana Nature Series - a collection of three hand-poured soy candles, inspired by Montana’s natural wonders of air, land and water. In celebration of Earth Day, Heyday will donate 100% of profits on Earth Day (4/22/2024 only) of this exclusive Montana Nature Series to Gallatin Valley Land Trust (GVLT), in support of their efforts to conserve open space, now and for all future generations.

Meet the Collection

Inspired by the iconic, awe-inspiring places of our valley, the artwork and scent of each candle was thoughtfully created to evoke a memory: Learning to fish on the Gallatin River with a grandparent, the first ascent up Beehive Basin in June, and the deep inhale at the summit of Lone Peak - we hope you feel that moment each time you light your candle.

Montana Wildflower Soy Candle

Our Montana Nature Series Montana Wildflower soy candle is inspired by meadows in bloom. The long-anticipated moment when the trails are covered in new blooms, when the meadows look like paintings, and all you feel is gratitude for being surrounded by such beauty.

Top notes: Tangerine, peach
Middle notes: Freesia, lilac and jasmine
Base: Powder, vetiver, sandalwood and light musk

Rushing Headwaters Soy Candle

The Montana Nature Series Rushing Headwaters soy candle is inspired by mornings on the river, when the summer sun starts to burn off the morning chill and the serene sounds of fluid casts of patient anglers fill the air. Our local Headwaters is the convergence of the Jefferson, Madison and Gallatin River to form the Missouri River.

Notes: bergamot, mandarin, lemon, iris, jasmine, leather, patchouli, oakwood and musk.

Top notes: bergamot, mandarin leaf, fig
Middle notes: jasmine, geranium fresh rose, lily
Base: musk, woodsy

MEET THE ARTIST

Lori Palmer, Uncommon Scents Candles

Lori Palmer, Founder and Owner of Uncommon Scents has been hand pouring candles for over 30 years. She is thoughtful and meticulous in her selection of her scents, quality of her 100% sox wax, and unique vessels - her attention to detail is what makes Uncommon Scents one of Heyday’s most popular and bestselling candle lines. Lori’s love for candles started back in her hometown of Lawrence, Kansas, in the pursuit to find a cleaner, high-quality candle that she could feel good about burning in her home alongside her young family. What started as a hobby later turned into a small retail shop in Lawrence offering her kids the learning opportunity to explore the operations of a small business. Lori moved to Bozeman in 2019 and joined our Heyday family in 2020.
